Oskar’s ideology behind OSKLEN is a perfect example of a brand coexisting with nature. He imagines a world of the future where no geographical nations exist instead there are lifestyle nations based on similar values and he wants to be a part of a sustainable lifestyle nation. Though the idea seems far-fetched at the moment this is how I believe the fashion brands should have developed coexisting with the community and ecosystem around it. His passion for Brazil’s natural resources and communities is paramount in the manifesto of the brand. By diverting waste from landfills and turning it into coveted luxury goods, it has become a source of generating employment for people.

Communities generate more income and have access to long-term training programmes that support their regional riparian industries by developing demand for this new luxury material. Making the brand economically, socially and environmentally viable.
The idea for the new collections emerges from textures, concepts, experiences, elements from Oskar’s travels. He believes his gesture as an artist is a synthesis of his experiences which shape his work. His brand honours the practices and traditions of communities and gives them their rightful place by making them a legal part of the collection. The aesthetic exchange between him and his team is the construction of elements with his artistic direction on concept and style. The atelier is a mix of art and design work related to ecological causes as all is connected to one another.
OSKLEN demonstrates sustainable development made possible by respecting the community and valuing the materials. This is accomplished by not reinforcing them with modern westernised designs and violating their knowledge instead proposing innovative techniques and research facilities to work in synergy.
